Lift car and place on jack stands as per shop manual.

a. Steel Spring Application: Starting on one
side of the car, firmly place a large pair of "vise grip pliers about 4
inches (or width of jack pad) from the spring end bolt. Using a jack, slowly
raise end of spring to remove tension from the spring end bolt.

b. Fiberglass Spring Application: Use blocks of
wood instead of vise grips that will damage spring composition. Never place
jack directly on fiberglass spring.

Remove nut and then slowly lower jack. NOTE: It is important
to keep jack pad firmly against the "vise grip" pliers. This will prevent the jack from sliding up
the spring as the jack is lowered.

Repeat procedure on other side of car.

To remove spring, Unbolt spring mounting plate on rear
end housing and retain bolts for later use.

Using original bolts, install traction bar plate with bar
angled towards right front of car. Replace spring and tighten centermount bolts
to factory specifications.

Repeat step 2.

Install spring cushion, washer and nut. Tighten.

Repeat procedure on other side of car.

Install tabs
on other end of bar with bolt provided.
Position correctly on
frame and weld.

Using caution,
lower car to ground.

With car on
ground, re-torque centermount bolts.
